Omez (Prilosec) is an inexpensive medicine used to treat certain situations where there is too much acid in the stomach like ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Omez 20 mg capsules are used to treat acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers. Omez Capsule may also be used together with other medicines to handle certain situations as suggested by the doctor. It is used in combination with Clarithromycin, or Amoxicillin to reduce the risk of ulcers in the upper part of the small intestine called duodenal ulcers. It is also used with Clarithromycin, or Metronidazole to remove certain bacterial infections which lead to stomach ulcers. Omez (Omeprazole 20mg) is also available as an oral suspension and comes as an over-the-counter (OTC) medication.
Omez 20mg is also prescribed for the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease (pud), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD/GERD), erosive esophagitis, duodenal ulcer, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
